Hi, my name is Peyton (they/them)! I am a Black queer organizer from Georgia currently studying social work at the University of Chicago. I specialize in storytelling and narrative building for youth-led organizations, with special attention to maintaining a restorative justice approach to conflict resolution and relationship building. Through writing, painting, collage, digital art, and other mediums, I help young people transform their stories into political power.

Grounded in the principles of Barbara Smith, I apply a queer, womanist, advocacy-driven framework to all of my work. As a college student, I founded The Black Knowledge Coalition, an education mutual aid group helping make resources about the Black feminist and Black liberation tradition more accessible.

When I’m not creating something or nose-deep in some non-fiction, I enjoy watching WNBA and NBA basketball and collecting records!
